The front design is based on the Maltese Cross with the scales of justice within. "BFI" is the Bureau of Fire Investigation. "4710" is the Task Force radio call sign. "SID" is the police component of the Task Force (Special Investigations Division), and the phrase "Truth Seekers" comes from a line of the CCAI Code of Ethics: " I will always bear in mind that I am a truth-seeker; not a case maker. It is more important to protect the innocent than to convict the guilty." The back design was inspired by the fact that, historically, if Investigators could not figure out how a fire started, they would jokingly say, "It was rats with matches". Thus, the arsonist is the rat being caught by the Investigator cat.
